OCS's success is attributed to its detailed planning processes and execution from engineering through to commissioning and final asset acceptance or any individual section of a project.

We only engage the most experienced personnel in all disciplines to ensure that your project and commissioning is completed, professionally, cost-effectively and fully in compliance with Class and Regulatory requirements.

Project Modules

Project Trac first started development in 1998 during a “Major Upgrade & Reconstruction” of a drill ship. It was initially a pure “Identification and Tracking” package for equipment. It became obvious towards the middle and end of the project that more than a “Pure Tracking” tool was needed to assist the project to stay on schedule.

The experiences of this project led us to conduct an in-depth review of the “whole” project to look at the dependencies of independent departments that affected the efficiency of commissioning and of the overall project schedule.

The participants of the review were;

  • Shipyard QA / QC & Commissioning Personnel.
  • Offshore Commissioning Solutions (OCS) project personnel.
  •  Project Team (Owner).

The software has undergone continuous enhancement throughout the past several years with several million dollars have been invested in research and development.

PROJECT TRAC OBJECTIVE

Project Trac has been designed with the vision to conform to the “Project Management Body of Knowledge” (PMBOK), developed by the “Project Management Institute”. This is to help facilitate an international accepted standard into Project Management and Completions Systems for major projects in the Oil and Gas Industry.

Project trac features

Project cost saving

  • Project Trac has the ability to save millions of dollars per project
  • Transparency helps inter divisions / sections plan better.
  • Identify problems before schedule impact.
  • Assist in monitoring project divisions / sections and even inexperienced personnel.
  • Improve Communications between divisions / sections.
  • Provide improved and instant project overview and planning.

IMPROVE INFORMATION WORKFLOW

  • Information between divisions / Sections is greatly increased so planning is more effective. No one person can keep information to themselves as all divisions and sections will become transparent.
  • The work output of less experienced engineers can be improved as their progress can be monitored.
  • Problems can be more readily identified and hence corrective action can be initiated and put into place sooner due to information and reports given.
  • Serious project risks and potential delays can be identified and corrected early on, preventing overruns of the budget.

useful management tool

  • Inspection and Commissioning “Look Ahead” (planning) is automatically provided which helps easy planning and helps sequencing and scheduling. This means that “Look Ahead” does not rely on individuals having to manually prepare a “Look Ahead” for their individual disciplines/departments.
  • Gives a full System Status and Overview of all Division / Sections on one screen.
  • Calculates on a daily basis if Schedule in being maintained.
  • Produces “S” curves for QA / QC and Commissioning Functions.
  • Project Trac, due to its integration with other Divisions / Sections, prevents oversight of outstanding work, for example if any “Technical Query’s” are outstanding.
  • Project Trac is very simple to use and within an hour individuals can competently start to use the system.

Additional Information

  • Has to be “Simple” and easy to use with minimum training.
  • Improve information workflow.
  • Transparency between divisions/sections.
  • Management and Supervisors can review the status of all divisions instantly. Reduce manual monitoring of activities.
  • Provide planning tools to help all divisions/sections.
  • Identify trends and problems early to reduce project risks/delays.
  • Automate maintenance and tracking of the project schedule.
  • Improve maintaining the project schedule.
  • Predictive assessment if the schedule is realistic through “checks and balances”.
  • Eliminate project risks due to human dependency (e.g. employee leaves the company) by securing project knowledge, which is considered a company asset.
  • Integrate commissioning with QA to improve efficiency across other divisions/sections.
  • Assist experienced staff & management to actively monitor the progress of inexperienced personnel.
  • Overall cost and time savings.
  • Continuous improvement plan

Project Trac is aimed to be continuously updated with “Lessons Learnt” so that each revision becomes more efficient and effective. This will improve efficiencies and also save money on project costs. System modifications can be made by the client’s request on the existing system to better suit their business model, industry, or process.

  • OCS will supply support to solve any initial design and/or operational problems that may be encountered.
  • Continued support will be supplied to resolve any problems that may be encountered.
  • A “Maintenance” service will be provided that will look at streamlining or making modifications that Lamprell might require that may better suit an application.
  • Additional “Modules” can be developed that Lamprell may require at a later date to better help manage a new process that has been initiated.
